E-mail address masking to reduce spam

E mail spamming is one of the most annoying activities for users. There are many filters for spam available over the internet but, most of them have their own constraint. When a user shares his/her e mail address via social networks (especially Facebook or Twitter), there is always a chance to get spam e mails, as the e mail address is publicly displayed. Moreover, it is not practically possible to send your e mail address in direct messages to everyone.

Scr.im has set up a milestone in this area. They have introduced a unique e mail masking service, that shortens your e mail address to your desired URL. You just need to provide that URL to someone, with whom, you want to share own e mail address. Whenever the receiver receives the URL and opens it, he/she will be asked for word verification. After proper verification, the e mail address will be shown to him/her.

At present, this service is in its beta version, yet very useful and bug-free. However, the layout of their website is sometimes not comfortable to work with. Overall, it’s a very good service to share your e mail addresses safely over the social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
