What's New in Firefox 7


Yesterday, Firefox unveiled its latest stable version, Firefox 7. The updates in the versions of Firefox are very usual for its regular users. There are many important changes linked with this version of Firefox. Let us see these changes in detail one by one.



Improved memory handling: It is one of the most awaited and useful change in Firefox. According to the Firefox officials, the whole processes and sub-processes linked with memory management have been improved completely to provide better experience to users.

Instant Synchronization: With this change, the sync of passwords and bookmarks has become very easy and instant. One can sync his bookmarks or passwords very instantly and speedily using Firefox Sync.

WebSocket protocol: It has been updated from its Version 7 to its latest version, i.e. version 8. This protocol is used for full – duplex transmission of data. To know more about websocket protocol, click here

Easy navigation: ‘http://’ prefix is hidden from the address bar.

In this version, Firefox has introduced an option for Memory Monitoring. Now onwards, Firefox will collect data about browsing and analyze it. However, if you are concerned about privacy, you may disable it, if you have enabled it earlier. This service is disabled by default.
