Amazon Kindle Fire – A 7” tablet with Wi-Fi

Amazon has announced a competitor of iPad, Kindle fire. It is Android based, multi touch device. Sources from the market are in a doubt, if this one can compete with all time favorite iPad or not. With this tablet, one can watch movies, play games and can do much more.  Amazon Kindle Fire will be released on 15th of November, 2011. Let us move to the specifications.

Compared with iPad, this one seems to be very cheaper. However, there are several differences in the features of both of these tablets. This one has Android operating system, which is a plus point for die-heart Android lovers. Kindle fire has no integrated camera or microphone. In addition to that, it does not have provision for 3G connectivity. Access to Amazon App store is okay, but Amazon has restricted the access to Android Market. Kindle fire has comparatively low storage capacity.  iPad is however, heavy in weight (601 g), compared to Kindle Fire (413 g).

Will the sale of iPad affected with Amazon Kindle Fire?

After reviewing the features and specifications, I say no. Customers looking for tablet in lower segment with basic features would prefer this one, instead of iPad. But, customer in higher segment probably would not go for this one.

What’s your take on this?
