Add copyright mark (watermark) on your photographs before uploading

How to add copyright mark on your images before uploading: 

Photography is all about with originality. Hence, the credit for the art should go to its original artist. With increase in the use of internet, online photo sharing services came into limelight, one after another.It is very important for any photographer to mark copyright on his/her photograph. There are many ways to put such copyright mark. Some of them are shown here. 

Method I: Placing horizontal or vertical rectangular strip (Semi Transparent)on a side of the photograph

This is the method, which is used mostly on landscape photographs. Here is a sample photograph of such copyright mark. 

Here are the steps to put such watermark / copyright mark with Adobe Photoshop:

Create New Layer and place it above the Background or main layer.

In the new layer, draw a horizontal or vertical rectangular strip, generally filled with white color.

Now reduce the opacity of this strip in the range of 15-30 %.

With the help of Type tool, define an area for typing and type the text you want to put on that strip.

If the strip is vertical, type anywhere in the photograph, with appropriate sized fonts and rotate the typed text according to the placement of the strip. With move tool, place the text over the strip.

If needed, reduce the opacity of text.

Method II: Place the watermark in the center region of a photograph:

This method is comparatively easy than putting strip and text over the photograph. 

With the help of text Tool, type anything you want to put as a watermark. The color of the text should be preferably Black for good results.

From layer blending options, reduce the fill opacity to 0 %. Your text will become invisible.

Now, select the Drop shadow option and adjust the opacity to 75 %.           

With the help of move tool, place the watermark text to the appropriate region.

Method III: Place simple text anywhere in the photograph with any simple Photo Editor:

This method is best for users, who do not have Adobe Photoshop or other advanced software for photo editing.

To put watermark in such softwares, write the text you want as a watermark, in relevant color and size. Now, place the text on the photograph at desired location.

To add copyright Symbol (©), press ALT + 0169 (With Num lock on). Make sure that you keep the ALT key pressed when you type 0169.
